Snow in Portland

It snowed unexpectedly today in Portland. We got between 6-8 inches. I was at work but the boys were all home and played outside for hours. Then they had to pick me up at work and we got in a small fender bender on the way home - oh well, everyone is ok. It was crazy there were buses stopped sideways blocking off all traffic and accidents everywhere! Not to mention there wasn't a snowplow in sight! Nathan put on his snow outfit and took a turn playing in the snow as well. He LOVED it!

Merry Christmas!

Nathan is 8 months

Nathan is 8 months old now. We took him for photos and he cried the whole time. I even had to hold him for some of the photos to get some decent ones! He is such a sweet and thoughtful little guy. He is really starting to crawl now so we have to watch out for all the legos and cars that tend to be scattered all over the floor by the older boys. He has started to eat all kinds of food, but prefers things like cherrios that he can eat himself. He got his first two teeth this month as well. His older brothers are constantly telling him how much they love him - it is so cute!

Seaside and Cannon Beach

We had a great time at the beach, even if it was foggy. We went to the tide pools and found many starfish, sea anenomes, and crabs. Then we took a tour of the Tillamook cheese factory. We also explored Seaside and Cannon beach! It was so much fun, and we loved spending time with our family.

A Walk with the Roses

The Roses came to visit! It was so nice to see our Grandma and Grandpa. We took a walk in the Portland Rose Garden. It was a beautiful day. We are sure going to miss them now that they have gone home!

The Beach

So we packed our bags and took our first family vacation as a family of five! We went to the Oregon coast and stayed at Rockaway beach. We also visited Canon Beach.

The boys had a blast playing in the sand. They found all kinds of treasure, otherwise known as seaweed, seashells, etc. and built a fort.

We rented a hotel room right on the beach with a little deck, ahh . . . so relaxing!

This was Nathan's first time seeing the ocean and it was love at first sight! He couldn't get enough of the sand and kept wiggling his toes in it. He also took every opportunity to try and shove a handful of sand in his mouth when mommy wasn't looking!

The Oregon coastline is amazingly beautiful and it was so nice to just soak in its beauty.
